Kids Say and Do the Funniest Things

Centenarian Grandma Galliano & Mom.

Kids are funny. It is such a treat to be surrounded by (potential) comedians. Just think how lucky we are to have this humor resource on a daily basis. It would cost a fortune to see Seinfeld, Gaffigan, or DeGeneres in a stand-up concert Monday through Friday. Milton Berle once said, “Laughter is an instant vacation.”

We get an immediate holiday whenever we laugh. Humor is powerful. A good laugh can release stress and tension. My Grandma Galliano lived to be 109. I asked her once what her secret was to living a long life. She told me good food and belly laughs. It just feels good to have a belly laugh. NPR’s Car Talk would get me laughing as soon as I heard Tom and Ray Magliozzi cackling. Their laughter was contagious for me. Students too. Just thinking about some of my past students makes me smile. Do you have a funny kid story? If yes, please share.
